In this guide, we’ll only explain how to assemble and mount 3D models on your PS2 SLim SCPH700xx.
You’ll find them on this page.
Important: read the entire guide before beginning installation.
Some of the models shown in the videos are test versions; the final models may differ slightly from those in the videos, but their use remains the same.
To install the IDE to SATA converter in the console, you can watch my video here up to the 50th minute:

then follow this guide 😉
Optional: use of M2 inserts
Using pliers, place your inserts over the holes in the part as shown in the video, then use a soldering iron to press the insert into the part.
Inserts ensure a solid assembly, but installation without inserts is just as valid as long as you don’t overtighten the screws.
Preparing the SATA connector
Use pliers to remove unnecessary PINs from the connector, and then solder the 7 wires with an iDE ribbon, ideally, or you can use kynar wires glued as for modchip installation.
The length of your ribbon cable should be between 12cm and 15cm. Don’t make it too long, as space is limited under the console motherboard.
Assembly
Fit the SATA connector into the part with the 3 Sony-type strips.
Pass your ribbon wire through the part with the 2 clips, which must be on the outside, as they will fit into the console.
Then line up the 3 holes – in principle, you can’t go wrong doing this.
Then screw in using the 2 M2 screws, but don’t overtighten if you’re not using an insert.
Console mounting
Pass the ribbon cable through the second hole from the left, looking at the back of the console.
Then clip the 2 clips into the holes, which should force slightly and then clip, but this depends very much on your 3D printing.
Then screw your M3x15mm screw into the mounting hole on the console. Make sure you have the small metal plate inside the console.
“SSD Cartridge”
As you can see, you can disassemble your SSD this way and then place it in a smaller case, which you can find here:

However, I’m not fully satisfied with this model, and plan to make my own soon 😉
